Margie Shurgot serves as the Chief Philanthropy Officer at Friends of Waterfront Seattle since June 2020, following a role as Director of Advancement at the Pepperwood Foundation. Margie has extensive experience in nonprofit development, having previously held the position of Vice President of Development at the California State Parks Foundation and Director of Advancement for Catholic Charities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Additional roles include Senior Counsel for Fund Development and Investor Relations at The New North, Inc., and Founder and CEO of Shurgot and Associates, Inc. Margie has also served as Executive Director for the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra, Campaign Director at St. Norbert College, and Vice President for Advancement at California College of the Arts. Margie's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Higher Education from Claremont Graduate University and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Chemistry from Pomona College, complemented by studies at Oxford University.
