Jason Edwards

Jason Edwards is an experienced educator with a focus on enhancing student learning and supporting teachers. Currently serving as a Master Teacher Coach and Resident Academy Director at Friendship Public Charter School since July 2013, Jason manages and supports educators while observing and coaching them to improve student outcomes. Previously, as a Master Teacher, Jason instructed 8th-grade students through rigorous novel studies and delivered engaging professional development workshops. Prior experience includes serving as a Middle School Specialist at Little Lights Urban Ministries and as a teacher with Teach For America, where Jason taught reading-intensive literacy courses to 7th and 8th graders. Jason holds a Teaching Certificate in Secondary English Language Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies and Music from the University of Pennsylvania.
