Creative Director, Design at Frieze

Claude d'Avoine has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various companies and roles. In 2012, they began working as a Designer at Dazed & Confused, a role they held until 2014. During the same period, they also worked as a Designer for Varón Magazine. In 2014, Claude joined the Victoria and Albert Museum as a Designer and worked there until 2016. Additionally, they served as a Visiting Lecturer in Graphic Design at the University for the Creative Arts from 2014 to 2016. From 2016 to 2017, Claude worked as a Senior Graphic Designer at Burberry before moving on to become a Senior Graphic Designer at Mulberry England in 2018. In the same year, they also worked as a Senior Graphic Designer on a freelance basis for Alfred Dunhill Ltd. Claude's freelance career continued in 2019 when they took on roles in Design and Art Direction for various clients, including V&A, JW Anderson, and WIRED UK. Most recently, Claude became the Head of Design at Frieze in 2021. Claude'swork experience demonstrates a strong background in graphic design, art direction, and teaching.

Claude d'Avoine obtained a Foundation degree in Graphic Design from the University of the Arts London in 2007. Following this, from 2007 to 2010, Claude pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Graphic Design at the University of Brighton.
