Alan Rolfe

Alan Rolfe is a highly experienced medicinal chemist currently serving as Principal Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry at Frontier Medicines since October 2023. Prior to this, Alan held the position of Director and Principal Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry at Relay Therapeutics from May 2021 to September 2023, and served as Senior Investigator and Scientific Investigator II at H3 Biomedicine from October 2011 to May 2021. Alan's expertise includes leading projects from discovery to lead optimization, particularly in kinase inhibitors, protein-protein interactions, nuclear hormone receptors, and splicing. Earlier in the career, Alan was a Research Associate at the University of Kansas, where contributions included the development of innovative synthetic methodologies and involvement in various collaborative drug discovery projects. Alan has authored 25 peer-reviewed manuscripts, holds three patents, and has a PhD in Chemistry from The University of Sheffield, complemented by a BSc (Hons.) in Chemistry from Newcastle University.
