Emanuel Carvalho has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Emanuel currently serves as the Strategic Engagement Lead at Frontiers, where they lead programming and strategic engagement across science, policy, and society. Prior to this, they co-founded Senciência, an organization focused on engaging the public with science through various initiatives and events.

Carvalho has also held leadership positions at EUNIC Portugal, where they served as the President of the European Union National Institutes for Culture. Emanuel Carvalho attended Jeppe High School for Boys from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a Higher Grade Matriculation. Emanuel then pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electronic Engineering at the Universidade de Coimbra for the academic year 1997-1998. Following that, from 1998 to 2002, they completed a BEng Hons degree in Mechanical Engineering & Business Management at the University of Surrey.
