Jean Metz

Jean Metz is an experienced machine learning engineer and data scientist with a strong background in leading teams and delivering AI solutions. Jean is currently working at Frontiers as a Team Lead Machine Learning Engineer and MLOps Chapter Lead, where they manage a team of engineers and oversees the operationalization of AI solutions. Prior to this, Jean held positions as a Principal Data Scientist at Ryte, where they led the Data Science team and advanced the company's data-driven aspects, and as a Team Lead and Senior Machine Learning Engineer at GfK, where they led a forecasting team responsible for delivering reliable forecasting models. Jean also has experience as a Machine Learning and Software Engineer at JArchitects, a Machine Learning Engineer at KBC Bank & Verzekering, and as a Co-Founder of ADHapp, a patient coaching platform. Jean has worked on various projects and is skilled in technologies such as Java, Spring, Hibernate, and Git.

Jean Metz earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná in 2004. They went on to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics at USP - Universidade de São Paulo from 2004 to 2006. Later, Jean completed their education with a PhD in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics from USP - Universidade de São Paulo, graduating in 2011. They have also obtained various certifications, including AWS Data Lab Participant from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2022 and certifications in machine learning and data analytics from Coursera between 2020 and 2021.
