Rocío A.

Rocío A. has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. They started their professional career as an Information Technologies Trainee at SEDAPAR S.A. in 2006. Following that, they worked as a Process Control and Instrumentation trainee at Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde S.A.A. in 2007, where they gained experience in tasks such as installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of field devices.

In 2008, Rocío joined Ausenco as an SCADA Controls Engineer, where they were responsible for designing wiring and loop diagrams, utilizing communication protocols, preparing technical reports, and supervising construction. They also achieved notable accomplishments such as improving the process control narrative and designing a wireless network architecture.

From 2009 to 2021, Rocío held multiple roles at Upwork, including Data Scientist and IT & Telecom Engineer. In these positions, they utilized their expertise in data science and provided advice on AI projects.

In 2013, Rocío worked as an Electronics Engineer at JG ingenieros, specializing in telecommunications and physical security engineering. They then pursued research as a Researcher at Polytechnique Montréal from 2014 to 2018.

In 2019, Rocío joined Imnind Technologies as a Data Scientist, focusing on IoT prototypes, AI projects, and end-to-end modeling. They provided recommendations on IoT architectures and successfully developed prototypes for AI applications.

Since 2021, Rocío has been with Data Science Research Perú as a Technical Writer, researching and writing documents on AI and climate change. They then moved on to work at Omdena as a Machine Learning Engineer, where they researched and developed classifiers and tools in various industries such as agriculture, finance, and transport.

Currently, Rocío holds the position of an AI Engineer at FruitPunch AI, where they research and develop classifiers and tools, with a focus on building computer vision models for classifying European wildlife in camera trap images.

Throughout their career, Rocío has gained experience in various domains, including AI, machine learning, data science, IoT, and telecommunications. They have demonstrated their ability to research, develop, and apply innovative solutions in their work.

Rocío A. obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal from 2016 to 2018. In 2007 to 2009, they pursued a Master in Telecommunications degree in Ingeniería de Telecomunicaciones from Universidad de Tarapacá. Rocío also completed the Intel Edge AI for IoT Developers program and the AWS Machine Learning Scholarship program from Udacity, both without specified start and end years. Additionally, they have engaged in self-paced learning with Udacity in the field of Machine Learning. Rocío A. has obtained certifications including Cisco Certified Network Associate from Cisco Networking Academy and Microsoft Certified IT Professional from Microsoft. In 2011 to 2012, they pursued an Associate's Degree in Professional Photography from the New York Institute of Photography. Rocío recently completed the AWS Machine Learning Foundations program from Udacity in 2021 and is currently pursuing another program in the same field, which will be completed in 2022.
