Wasiu Shafe has over 18 years post qualification work experience across the fields of consulting, assurance and the financial service industry. He started his post qualification career with the accounting firm of Ayo Falaiye & Co (Chartered Accountants) before joining the Internal Control and Audit Group of Zenith Bank Plc. Wasiu joined First Securities Discount House Limited as Financial Controller in 2008, a position he held after the transition of the Discount House to a Merchant Bank in 2013. He assumed the role as the bank’s Chief Financial Officer in 2015 with responsibility for the financial and strategic plan of the bank with oversight responsibilities over the financial reporting functions of the bank’s subsidiaries which comprised of an asset management, a stockbroking firm and a pension fund administrator company. In July 2019, he was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer of FSDH Holdings Company following the restructuring exercise of the FSDH Group into a financial holding company. He is a graduate of accounting and an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered). He is an alumnus of the Senior Management Programme of the Lagos Business School and a certified Balanced Scorecard Professional.
