Sean Salamander

Sean Salamander has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. Sean has held roles in various companies, including FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, Great Gecko Consulting, Elanco, and Eli Lilly and Company.

At FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, Sean is currently serving as the Head of Upstream Process Science. In this role, they lead the Upstream Process Science Team at Fujifilm's new site in Holly Springs, North Carolina. The team provides tech transfer and manufacturing oversight capabilities for large-scale monoclonal antibody production.

Prior to joining FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, Sean worked as a Manufacturing and Management Consultant at Great Gecko Consulting. With over 25 years of leadership experience, they helped management and technical teams solve quality or technical problems, particularly in areas such as quality remediation, process improvement, and tech transfers.

Sean also served as an Executive Director at Elanco from 2018 to 2020, and in various senior roles at Eli Lilly and Company. While at Eli Lilly, they held positions such as Senior Director of TS/MS, Director of Commercialization, Contract Mfg, and Development, Director of Fermentation TS/MS and Development, Manager of Development Engineering, and Manager of Technical Services / Manufacturing Science (TS/MS). In these roles, Sean oversaw various responsibilities, including commercialization of new products, leading fermentation development teams, and conducting site reviews for process optimization and quality agendas.

Sean Salamander attended Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
