Alejandra Sacio

Director of Communications at Fulfillment Fund

Alejandra Sacio spent her childhood moving between Lima, Peru and San Diego, California. She began immigrating on her own when she became a Fulbright Scholar pursuing Journalism at the University of Kansas. Since then, she has worked in both the U.S. and her home country as a strategic communications professional. After obtaining her Masters’s degree in International Affairs with a concentration in development from the New School in New York, Alejandra began working for organizations that seek to eradicate poverty and promote human rights.

Her journey in telling stories that matter began at Global Citizen, managing content on their platform and collaborating with the CTO to improve the digital user experience. She gained experience in outreach and engagement by working on the internationally-broadcasted documentary films, Half the Sky and A Path Appears, to galvanize efforts that strengthened women’s rights, with Pulitzer Prize-winner and New York Times columnist, Nicholas Kristof. While working at Skylight, Alejandra became Director of Communications. There, she led a national documentary film release with its world premiere at Sundance, on the topics of social justice for indigenous people and movement building. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, she returned to serving children through the philanthropic work of Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Alejandra joins the team at the Fulfillment Fund with over 12 years of experience in marketing and communications. Her passion for making an impact that helps communities grow through equitable access continues to drive her career as a storyteller in the nonprofit world.
