Ilana Pearlman

Ilana Pearlman has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Ilana currently serves as the General Counsel at iTutor.com Inc. since August 2021.

Before joining iTutor.com Inc., Ilana worked as the General Counsel at Hustle from July 2017 to July 2019. During their tenure at Hustle, they played a crucial role in scaling the company, overseeing all legal tasks, and supervising outside counsel. Ilana also led the hiring process for building an in-house legal team.

Prior to Hustle, Ilana worked as an Attorney at SIEGWART German American Law from 2015 to February 2017. Ilana gained experience in various legal matters during their time at SIEGWART German American Law.

From April 2011 to 2014, Ilana worked as an Attorney at Foster Employment Law, where they handled defense-side litigation cases, representing employers and government entities in employment, labor, and civil rights-related cases.

Earlier in their career, Ilana worked as an Attorney at Margolis & Tisman LLP from August 2008 to March 2011, engaging in plaintiff's and defense-side civil litigation, focusing on employment, labor, fraud, contracts, real estate, and malpractice cases.

Ilana began their legal career as a Law Clerk at the Law Offices of Scott H. Wechsler from May 2005 to April 2008. Prior to that, they worked as a Paralegal at Gilbert, Kelly, Crowley & Jennett in 2003.

Ilana also gained valuable internship experience at Rearden Steel in 2000.

Throughout their career, Ilana has developed a strong foundation in legal practice, acquiring knowledge in various areas of law and demonstrating a progressive trajectory in their roles.

Ilana Pearlman's education history begins in 1998 when they enrolled in UC San Diego, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in History with a minor in Chemistry. Ilana completed their undergraduate studies in 2002. In 2003, Ilana obtained a Paralegal Certificate through the UC San Diego Extension, which is an ABA-approved Professional Certificate in Paralegal Studies.

Building on their paralegal studies, Ilana went on to attend the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) from 2004 to 2007. During this time, they earned their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with a focus on Law. In April 2008, Ilana was admitted to The State Bar of California, signifying their eligibility to practice law in California.

In 2019, Ilana further added to their certifications by obtaining the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) designation through the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals.
