POSITION SUMMARY:

Fungi Perfecti, LLC is a family owned, environmentally friendly company specializing in growing and using gourmet and medicinal mushrooms to improve the health of the planet and its people. The Shipping Supervisor is primarily responsible for oversight of the daily operations of the warehouse Shipping Department, as well as supervising, training and facilitating the development of a high functioning team.

The Shipping Supervisor is a full-time, non-exempt position and will report directly to the Warehouse Operations Manager.  The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 8am – 4:30pm, and is located at our warehouse in Tumwater, WA.  Occasional overtime is required to meet the needs of the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises the shipping crew including scheduling, timecard approval, recommendations for hiring and individual performance evaluation.

  • Ensures employees perform job duties safely, accurately, and in a timely manner.

  • Safeguards and ensures proper handling and storage of product and equipment.

  • Maintains inventory levels and orders shipping supplies and needed.

  • Organizes and oversees an efficient and clean warehouse environment.

  • Performs shipping functions as needed, including driving forklift.

  • Communicates professionally within warehouse and across departments such as Customer Service and Supply Chain.

  • Assists with maintaining and overseeing the completion of relevant GMP logs (forklift inspection, cleaning, repackaging, etc.) and ensures GMP compliance.

  • Receives inbound goods in compliance with receiving SOP.

  • Ensures and promotes compliance with company safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.

  • Confers with management to resolve employee relations issues, complaints, or concerns.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned by Warehouse Operations Manager.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a warehouse environment.

  • Two (2) years of experience in warehousing, shipping, and/or manufacturing.

  • Forklift operator certification preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of shipping software.

  • Basic knowledge of cGMP and safety regulations.

  • Basic knowledge of SAP database system.

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite including-- Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams.

  • Basic experience leading small teams preferred.

  • Excellent organization, communication, and attention to detail.

  • Self-directing and able to take decisive and constructive action in adverse or ambiguous situations.

  • Able to coach, manage conflict, and facilitate a healthy team atmosphere.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
  • Frequently, bending, sitting, lifting, and overhead reaching.
  • Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Ability to verbally communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  • Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. Problem solve to prevent accidents, injuries and or maintain current processes.

Wage Range:  $24.59 - $35.02 per hour
