Meredith E. Green

General Counsel at Furman University

Meredith Green joined Furman University as General Counsel in 2017. A member of the University’s senior administrative team, she is responsible for directing and overseeing the University’s legal matters.

Before coming to Furman, Green worked at the law firm McGuireWoods LLP in Charlotte, where she practiced primarily in the area of higher education law. A frequent speaker on legal matters facing colleges and universities, she is also part of a team that teaches the Higher Education Practicum at the Washington and Lee University School of Law. Green serves on the Law Board of Visitors of the Wake Forest University School of Law.

A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Green majored in French and psychology at Furman. She graduated from Furman magna cum laude in 2005 and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law magna cum laude in 2010, where she was executive editor of the Wake Forest Law Review and member of the law honor society Order of the Coif.
