FXB International

FXB International is a NGO with a 30-year history of breaking the cycle of extreme poverty. Its mission is to provide families living in extreme poverty with the tools and support they need to become self-sufficient, able to raise their children in safe environment and give them a future. FXB develops complementary programs that promote respect of fundamental human rights and social justice. Our activities related to basic services – Integrated community development through our flagship FXBVillage programs, Education in the broad sense of the term, Health and Protection - strengthen the capacity of the communities in which we take action to be active and grow. Using in particular a comprehensive and field-tested model known as the FXBVillage program, FXB simultaneously tackles the five drivers of poverty—lack of nutrition, health, education, housing and income—while building families’ capacities to overcome poverty and become self-sufficient in the long term. FXB International has already developed 200 Community Development Programs FXBVillage across 11 countries - Burundi, China, Colombia, DRC, India, Mongolia, Namibia, Panama, Rwanda, Thailand and Uganda - helping more than 100’000 adults and children out of extreme poverty. In addition to the FXBVillage programs, 18 million adults and children across 20 countries have benefited from the presence of FXB in their communities through sustainable community development, infrastructure rehabilitation, education, HIV/AIDS and other diseases prevention, awareness and access to water and sanitation programs. FXB carries the name of François-Xavier Bagnoud, a helicopter pilot specialized in rescue operations. He dedicated his life to helping others and lost his life at the age of 24. His mother Albina du Boisrouvray, his family, and his friends founded FXB to continue his spirit of rescue and perpetuate the values of generosity and compassion that guided his life.
