Susan Murray

Head of Geospatial Development & Senior GIS Analyst at FYBR

Susan Murray has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Susan is currently working at FYBR Inc. as the Head of Geospatial Development & Senior GIS Analyst, a position they have held since July 2017. Prior to that, they completed a GIS Practicum with the Canadian Wildlife Service (CWS) at Environment and Climate Change Canada from April 2017 to June 2017.

From 2013 to 2016, Susan worked at the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) as a Conservation Assistant in various positions, including Open House Assistant and Big Wild Challenge Champion. In 2015, they also worked as an Organic Farm Worker at WWOOF Australia, where they took on roles such as Laying Hen Caretaker, Tea Tree Harvester, and Farm Hand.

Before that, Susan gained administrative and research experience as an Administrative and Research Assistant at Dermatology Associates from 2007 to 2013. Susan also worked as a Research Assistant for Dr. Cristian Suteanu's "Climate Variability in the Arctic" Thesis from November 2012 to July 2013.

In addition, Susan has experience as a Project Coordinator at Halifax Dump and Run from January 2013 to May 2013, as well as an Assistant Data Analyst at the Fishermen & Scientists Research Society from May 2012 to August 2012.

Susan Murray completed their education in a chronological manner. Susan began their academic journey in 2009 at St. Francis Xavier University but did not obtain a degree or specific field of study from there. From 2011 to 2013, they attended Saint Mary's University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, with a focus on Co-operative Education. Later, in 2016 and 2017, they pursued an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Additionally, in April 2017, Susan obtained an Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance certification from the Government of Canada.
