Ylenio Longo

Ylenio Longo, PhD has worked as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at FYLD since June 2021. Prior to this, they worked at StepStone from October 2016 to May 2021 as a Data Scientist, where they focused on job candidate recommendation and text classification using deep Siamese neural networks with transformers. During their time at The University of Nottingham from October 2014 to September 2016, Ylenio served as an MSc Dissertation Supervisor, guiding students in their dissertation preparation and improvement. Ylenio also worked as a Quantitative Methods Teaching Assistant, Cover Lecturer, and Seminar Leader, teaching quantitative methods to psychology MSc students and business students.

Ylenio Longo, PhD, has an extensive education history spanning various disciplines. In 2005, they obtained a High School Diploma from Quincy Senior High School, where they focused on Mathematics, American Literature, Spanish, Theatre, and Physics. Following this, from 2007 to 2011, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Spanish and Applied Linguistics (TEFL) at Swansea University. As part of the curriculum, they also studied at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona during the 2009-2010 academic year as an Erasmus student in Spanish and Iberian Studies.

Continuing their educational pursuits, Ylenio then attended the University of Nottingham, earning a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Management (Organizational) Psychology from 2011 to 2012. Ylenio furthered their education at the same institution, completing a second MSc degree in Experimental Psychology from 2012 to 2013 at the University of Sussex.

Ylenio's academic journey culminated with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Applied Psychology, which they achieved from the University of Nottingham between 2013 and 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Ylenio has obtained multiple certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills in various areas. Notable certifications include "Mathematics for Machine Learning and Data Science" from DeepLearning.AI in June 2023, "Machine Learning" from Stanford Online in October 2022, "New Manager Team Leader Skills" from Acuity Training in September 2022, and "AI for Medicine Specialisation" from DeepLearning.AI in May 2022.

Other certifications earned by Ylenio include "AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty" from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in April 2022, "Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) Specialisation" from DeepLearning.AI in January 2022, and "AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner" from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in August 2021.

Furthermore, they have obtained certifications such as "TensorFlow Developer Certificate" from the TensorFlow Certificate Program in February 2021, "Deep Learning Specialisation" from deeplearning.ai in January 2021, and "Natural Language Processing Specialisation" from deeplearning.ai in November 2020, among others.
