Steve Furness

Steve Furness is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in leading financial operations across multiple sectors. Currently serving as Head of Finance at G4S since February 2023, Steve oversees the financial management of a £500 million revenue UK Guarding business, focusing on enhancing performance through strategic business partnering. Prior roles include Finance Director at Compass Group UK & Ireland, where responsibilities included partnering with senior executives on budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls across various functions, and leading transformative initiatives such as labour reduction programs. Previous experience also includes key finance roles at Sainsbury's and HMV, showcasing a strong track record in financial analysis, strategic insight, and performance optimization. Steve holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from the University of Birmingham and is a member of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
