Josh Pause has a strong background in data science and digital product management. Josh started their career at Coachnite, LLC in 2008, where they co-created and led the development of a SaaS platform for coaches of youth sports. Josh utilized anomaly detection and linear regression in order to enhance the user experience and predict customer lifetime value.

In 2011, Josh joined Pineapple Street Studios as a Digital Product Manager, where they managed a team and designed web and phone applications for clients. Josh utilized collaborative filtering and low rank matrix factorization to implement user-based features and logistic regression to optimize company marketing efforts.

After that, Josh joined Deep Advantage in 2014 as a Data Scientist, where they engineered the collection and storage of large datasets for a big data project. Josh supervised the creation of a predictive model based on Twitter data and support vector machines, implementing map reduce and primary components analysis for dimensionality reduction.

In 2018, Josh moved to DataJenius as a Machine Learning Engineer, where they utilized NLP techniques and custom algorithms to model job listings for data science. Josh contributed to the full stack development, including the data pipeline, API microservice, and front-end presentation.

Currently, Josh is working at Galaxy Media LLC as the Director of Data. Their primary responsibilities include data ingestion using Python and Airflow, migrating data into the Snowflake data warehouse, and overseeing data-related operations.

Josh Pause obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration and Management from Farmingdale State College between 2003 and 2017. Josh then pursued an M.S. degree in Statistics with a focus on Data Science at California State University - East Bay from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Python programming, Data Science, and R programming, from institutions such as Udacity, DataCamp, and Coursera.
