Fredrik Zetterberg

Fredrik Zetterberg has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Fredrik began their career in 1999 at AstraZeneca, where they held the position of Associate Principal Scientist. In this role, they led project chemistry activities and collaborated with internal and external partners. Fredrik also worked with cross-functional teams and managed up to 30 full-time employees. Fredrik remained at AstraZeneca until 2014.

In 2014, Zetterberg joined Galecto, Inc. as Director of Medicinal Chemistry. Fredrik later advanced to the role of VP of Medicinal Chemistry in January 2021. Their responsibilities at Galecto, Inc. include leading medicinal chemistry projects and contributing to research and development efforts.

Additionally, Zetterberg briefly worked as an Industrial Visitor at the Combinatorial Center of Excellence at the University of Southampton in 2002.

Fredrik Zetterberg studied at Uppsala University from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a PhD. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree at the University of Gothenburg from 1989 to 1994, earning a Master of Science (MSc) in Organic Chemistry.
