Kurt Fenstermacher

Kurt Fenstermacher has a diverse work experience across various industries. Kurt has held the position of Director of Software Engineering at Galileo Financial Technologies since November 2020. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Engineering at Nirenberg Neuroscience from June 2020 to October 2020, where they collaborated with Bionic Sight on restoring sight using computer vision products.

Kurt co-founded Digital Assets Data Inc. and served as the Chief Operating Officer from March 2019 to May 2020, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the fintech firm. Kurt also acted as the Chief Information Officer from March 2018 to May 2019, developing the product vision and requirements. At Digital Assets Data, they built a cloud-native data platform and an analytical platform for trading signal discovery.

Before that, Kurt worked at Bridgewater Associates from June 2007 to March 2018, where they held the position of Senior Product and Engineering Manager. Kurt played a crucial role in developing investment logic and managing an internal-startup team to build a cloud-native platform for data analysis and signal development.

Kurt's earlier experience includes working as a Professor at the University of Arizona from January 2000 to May 2007, where they conducted research on real-time data processing systems and founded the Eller Security Lab. Kurt also served as a visiting researcher at the Naval Research Lab and an instructor at the University of Chicago.

At the beginning of their career, Kurt worked as an Actuarial Associate at Everest Reinsurance (Pru Re) from July 1990 to September 1993. Here, they built data models, developed pricing models, and streamlined application development and deployment processes.

Lastly, they completed their diploma at Amphi from 1982 to 1986.
