Katrina Schleisman received her PhD from the University of Minnesota department of psychology and completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in the department of neuroscience, conducting research on memory using human behavioral and EEG methods.
She has spent the past decade applying her expertise in cognitive neuroscience to various applied domains. She has participated in multiple NIH and NSF-sponsored projects to develop and test digital educational tools that leverage principles of human learning and memory in K-12 educational settings. From 2018-2022 she was the principal investigator for an NIH-sponsored research project to design and evaluate digital curriculum for neurobiology education delivered to clients in residential addiction treatment.
Katrina currently provides human factors support on multiple Galois projects and in 2022 led an Office of Naval Research effort to develop tools to manage human operator requirements in system design. Her current research focus is the development of cognitive models that simulate human learning and performance.
