Kacy Gerst's work experience includes various roles in the science and technology industry. In 2004, they worked as an Engineer, Operations Strategy at Sikorsky Aircraft for five years. From 2009 to 2011, they served as a Program Analyst at the U.S. Department of Energy. Kacy then joined the Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems as a Fellow from 2011 to 2012. At ARPA-E, they worked as a Technology to Market Advisor from 2012 to 2015. Kacy Gerst then served at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) as the Chief of Commercial Strategy from 2015 to January 2022. Currently, they hold the role of Senior Vice President of Science and Technology at Galvanize Climate Solutions LLC, starting from January 2022. Additionally, they are an Entrepreneur In Residence at Concrete VA since April 2022.
Kacy Gerst holds a B.S. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech. Additionally, Kacy has pursued further education and obtained an M.S. degree in Systems Engineering & Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
