Jason Hokama

Jason Hokama, PhD, currently serves as the Head of Medical Affairs at Galvanize since August 2025. Prior to this role, Jason held various positions at Shockwave Medical, including Sr. Fellow, Sr. Director, and Director of Medical Affairs from January 2019 to August 2025. Jason's experience also includes serving as Senior Manager of THV Medical Affairs at Edwards Lifesciences from December 2015 to January 2019, where a scientific communications strategy was developed and executed for the THV business unit. Earlier roles include Manager of Medical Affairs at HeartWare Inc., where engagement with physicians and management of research programs were key responsibilities, and Clinical Consultant at SynCardia Systems, providing training for TAH implants. Jason's academic background includes a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and a PhD in Physiology/Pharmacology from the University of Arizona.
