Emma Tarpey

Emma Tarpey is an experienced civil engineer currently serving as an Executive Engineer at Galway County Council since June 2022. Previously, Emma held various roles at PUNCH Consulting Engineers from September 2016 to July 2022, including Senior Engineer, Civil Project Engineer, and Civil & Structural Design Engineer. Emma's early career included research work at NUI Galway on the Dairy Water project, focusing on sustainability in the dairy processing industry, educational support work, and youth teaching in civil engineering. Additionally, Emma gained analytical expertise at Accenture, participated in software development as an intern at Wood, and contributed to a research project at the University of Limerick funded by a Dell/SFI Scholarship. Emma holds both a Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Galway and completed high school at Castletroy College in Limerick.
