Damian Rio

Damian Rio has extensive work experience in the renewable energy industry, particularly in the solar power sector. Damian currently serves as the Regional Operations Lead - Latin America at GameChange Solar, where they are responsible for operations in Latin American countries, including client interface, troubleshooting, sales support, contract management, and installation and commissioning support.

Prior to their role at GameChange Solar, Damian worked at Trina Solar as a Senior Project Manager, overseeing projects from business development handover up to operations and maintenance. In this role, they managed direct reports, subcontractors, and consultants, and was responsible for various aspects of the project, such as contracting, engineering design, construction, and stakeholder management.

Damian also held the position of Projects Director at Sterling and Wilson, where they managed solar plant projects in the region. Damian'sresponsibilities included contracting, subcontracting, engineering design, construction, and turnover to operations and maintenance.

Before that, Damian worked as a Senior Project Manager at Scatec Solar, where they were responsible for all aspects of project performance, including contract management, cost control, and reporting to stakeholders.

Damian has also gained experience in project management and business development roles at WorleyParsons, Cummins Inc., First Solar, Nokia, and BP. In these positions, they managed energy projects, oversaw the implementation of EPC projects, coordinated project teams, and ensured project objectives were met.
