Matthew Pearson

Matthew Pearson is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in leadership roles across various industries. Currently serving as Group Financial Controller at Games Workshop since November 2025, Matthew previously held significant positions at Breedon Group plc as Finance Director and Financial Controller for GB Materials, managing a division with £1 billion in revenue. Prior to that, Matthew was Finance Director of South Operations at Royal Mail, overseeing a £2 billion budget across 600 sites and 50,000 employees. Additional roles include acting CFO and Group Financial Controller at Sports Direct, where Matthew contributed to strategic planning and refinancing efforts for a £3 billion group. Early career experience includes audit roles at EY and Tenon Group. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham.
