Grace Umutesi has a diverse work experience in the field of global health and life sciences. Grace currently works for Gates Ventures as a Fellow, focusing on health and life sciences. Prior to that, they were a Primary Health Care Research Fellow in the same company. Grace also has experience working as a Research Assistant at the University of Washington Department of Global Health, where they worked on various research projects. Before that, they worked as a Manager of Clinical Programs and Manager of the Research Department at Partners In Health. Grace also has experience as an Associate Program Manager at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and as a Study Coordinator at "Improving Perioperative and Anesthesia Care Training in Africa" (ImPACT Africa). Additionally, they have worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the International Epidemiological Database to Evaluate AIDS (IeDEA). Overall, Grace has demonstrated their expertise and dedication in the field of global health and research through their various roles and experiences.

Grace Umutesi's education history begins in 2011 when they enrolled at Oklahoma Christian University. Grace completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from there in 2015. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Global Health at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, which they completed in 2017. Building upon their previous education, Grace then joined the University of Washington in 2020, where they are currently studying to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Global Health with a focus on Implementation Science.
