James Luongo has worked in the IT industry since 2000. Starting at Draper Laboratory as an Assistant Systems Administrator, they wrote Perl and Bourne shell scripts to automate routine tasks with cron, and maintained and tested a computer aided engineering tool interface, written in Perl/Tk. In 2006, they moved to Energy Federation as a Programmer/Data Entry, where they processed rebates for various energy efficient programs throughout the country, and performed quality control and validation of rebate applications to ensure accuracy in the database. In 2010, they joined ACI Worldwide as a Sr Systems Engineer, where they installed and supported application software for quality assurance, and scripted an application install cutting about 5 days from the normal 20 day install window. In 2016, they joined Samsung Pay as a Sr Systems Engineer, where they automated the configuration and deployment of monitoring and management services, and wrote tools and scripts to provide automation and self service solutions for other teams. James is currently employed at OV Loop, Inc. as a DevOps Engineer.
James Luongo received their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University between 1998 and 2003. Prior to that, they attended Revere High School between 1994 and 1998. In addition, they hold two certifications: an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services obtained in November 2017, and an IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Application Server ND V7.0 from IBM.
