Deputy Director General: Content Management at GCIS

Regomoditswe Mavimbela has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. They currently hold the position of Deputy Director General: Content Management at GCIS since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Business Mentor at the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation starting in April 2021. From May 2016 to April 2021, they served as the Head of Communication and Brand Management at the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. Before that, they held the role of Marketing Services Manager at Eskom from March 2011 to April 2016. They also worked as a Communication Consultant at Telkom from March 2010 to February 2011. Additionally, they have experience as the Founder and Managing Director of 24 Degrees South, an Integrated Marketing Agency, where they focused on strategy development, advertising, activations, and internal and external communications. They started this venture in 2006 and continued until February 2011. Earlier in their career, they held the role of Account Director at The Agency for Advertising and Communications from 2002 to 2006, managing key accounts such as South African Tourism. In this role, they successfully managed a global sponsorship project across multiple continents.

Regomoditswe Mavimbela holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Economics and Business Management from North-West University/Noordwes-Universiteit. They also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Advertising and Marketing Communication from AAA School of Advertising. Additionally, Mavimbela has a Diploma in Conference and Event Management from Damelin. They went on to pursue further education by obtaining a Masters degree (MBL) in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika. Mavimbela is currently enrolled in the Executive Development Programme at the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria. They have also completed a Certificate in Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) from the same institution.
