John Vandike has a strong background in engineering, with a focus on simulation and lifing in the aviation industry. John began their career as an Engineering Intern at Con-Agra in 1998. In 2001, they joined GE Aviation as part of the Edison Engineering Development Program. From 2003 to 2019, they worked their way up from Lead Engineer to Senior Engineer in the Life Management's Life Methods team. During this time, they developed and implemented reduced order modeling and simulation technology to improve analysis efficiency and customer value. In 2019, they became a Senior Staff Engineer, where they focused on continuous improvement and standardizing work processes. Currently, they hold a Principal Engineer position at GE Aviation, where they lead the development and execution of the future vision for airbreathing engine mission simulation and drives the adoption of machine learning techniques in traditional engineering spaces.
John Vandike obtained a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 2003. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in 2000. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera in 2015.
