Dariusz Mydlarz

Dariusz (Derek) Mydlarz, MD, MPH has a diverse work experience. Dariusz (Derek) currently holds the position of CMO/Global Executive Director - Health Benefits and Services at GE Appliances, a Haier company. Prior to this, they worked as a Field Surgeon/Physician in the Florida Army National Guard.

From 2016 to 2020, Dariusz held various positions at Humana, including Chief Medical Officer, Vice President of Clinical Operations, and Medical Director in the Office of the Chief Medical Officer. In these roles, they led and reorganized clinical operations, achieved significant savings, and increased revenue. Dariusz (Derek) also developed integrated models of care with external specialty providers to optimize patient health outcomes.

Before Humana, Dariusz served in the Indiana Army National Guard as a Brigade Surgeon and Medical Detachment Physician. Dariusz (Derek) also held the position of Chief of Preventive and Occupational Medicine at the Pentagon - National Guard Bureau, Office of the Chief Surgeon. In this role, they directed the Army National Guard Preventive and Occupational Medicine program for the 54 US states and territories, collaborating to improve Soldier medical readiness.

Dariusz's earlier work experience includes roles as an Occupational and Environmental Medicine Resident at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, a Preventive Medicine Resident at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, and a Medical Director at Madison County Community Health Centers, Inc. Dariusz (Derek) also served as Interim Deputy Commander for Clinical Services, Chief of Primary Care, and Primary Care Physician at Kirk US Army Health Center.

Dariusz (Derek) Mydlarz, MD, MPH completed their BA in biological sciences and biochemistry at the University at Buffalo from 1993 to 1997. Dariusz (Derek) then pursued their MD at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry from 1997 to 2001. Following this, they completed their residency in general surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center from 2001 to 2004. In 2010, they earned an MPH degree in Public Health from The Johns Hopkins University. Dariusz (Derek) further specialized in Preventive Medicine by completing a residency at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in 2011-2012. Dariusz (Derek) also completed an Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health from 2012 to 2013. Dr. Mydlarz has additional certifications in various medical fields, including being a Certified Medical Review Officer and a Certified Independent Medical Examiner. Dariusz (Derek) is board-certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine and Preventive Medicine.
