Sheryl Beck, CISSP

Sheryl Beck is a CISSP-certified professional who has worked in various roles in the field of information technology, software development, and systems engineering. Sheryl started their career in the United States Air Force in 1989, where they worked on training commanders on the use of PC-III system. In 1997, they became an Instructional Systems Specialist until their departure in 2005. After their military service, Sheryl worked for Boeing as a GMD Training Systems Integrator before joining SAIC in 2008 as a System Integration and Test Engineer. While at SAIC, Sheryl was a Cyber Systems Administrator who performed system hardening, prepared RMF and DIACAP documentation using eMass for ATO. Sheryl also served as a SharePoint administrator for an enterprise farm with over 140,000 users and a SQL enterprise database administrator. In 2017, they became an IV&V Systems Software Engineer with Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. where they verified and validated software for weapon systems. Sheryl also worked on automated testing for the MLRS system software and converted testing from manual to automated utilizing the Labview platform. In 2020, Sheryl moved to the role of Integration and Test Engineer with MTSI where they worked until 2021 when they were hired as an Information Technology Solutions Architect with Geeks and Nerds (GaN Corporation).

Sheryl Beck, CISSP obtained a BBA in Accounting from McKendree University in 1996. Later, they completed an MS in Instructional Systems Design from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2003, and a BS in Information Technology from DeVry University in 2007. Sheryl also holds several certifications, including CISSP from (ISC)² in 2015, A+ and Security+ from CompTIA in 2015, CCNA and Cisco Certified Network Associate Cyber Ops (CCNA) from Cisco in 2020, and several Microsoft certifications including MCPS and MCTS in 2014, and Microsoft Certified Professional in 2009. Additionally, they hold DoD IAT Level II, CompTIA Linux+ ce certification, and Solaris 10 System Administrator certification from Oracle. Sheryl recently obtained Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals and Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals in 2022.
