Matthias Dunkel

Matthias Dunkel is currently the COO at Geistlich Pharma. Matthias was previously the Executive Director AOTrauma at the AO Foundation from January 2015 to October 2016. Matthias is a member of the Executive Management Team of the AO Foundation and has provided strategic and operational management, and guidance to the international and regional boards. Matthias has also implemented and improved management processes to drive the advancement of the AOTrauma clinical division. Matthias is responsible for the planning and control as well as P&L accountability of AOTrauma’s financial performance. Matthias also oversees the execution of research, educational and marketing programs defined by the various commissions to enhance AOTrauma’s academic credibility and establish revenue streams and grants. Finally, Matthias fosters a well-established community network, maintains an appealing, accessible and highly-valued membership program as well as administrating the AOTrauma website and online services.

Matthias Dunkel attended the Program for Executive Development (PED) at IMD and the Young Manager Program (YMP) - MBA at INSEAD. Matthias holds a PhD in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Food Sciences from ETH Zürich and a Masters (M.Sc.) in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Toxicology from ETH Zürich. Matthias Dunkel also has a Maturitée fédérale in Scientific from Collège de Saussure, Onex-Genève.
