Gerrit de Moor

Gerrit De Moor is a skilled optimization engineer with extensive experience in energy analytics and resource planning. Currently serving as a Staff Optimization Engineer at Geli since May 2021, Gerrit previously held the role of Senior Analytics Developer at Ascend Analytics, where responsibilities included leading the development of the PowerSIMM Python dispatch optimization module. At Energy & Environmental Economics, Gerrit contributed as a consultant, playing a key role in the development of proprietary tools for production simulation and capacity expansion planning, including the creation of the RECAP reliability model and significant contributions to the RESOLVE capacity expansion modeling for the California Public Utilities Commission. Early career experiences include instructional roles at Stanford University and various analyst positions focused on energy efficiency and sustainability. Gerrit holds a Master's Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University and a Master of Science in Bioscience Engineering from KU Leuven.
