Stefan Weenk has extensive work experience in the field of information security. Stefan is currently working as the Chief Information Security Officer at Gemeente Den Helder since 2022. Prior to this role, they held the same position at Gemeente Den Helder through a secondment from Breinstein, starting in 2020 and ending in 2022. During this time, they also briefly served as an Information Security Officer. Stefan Weenk began their career in 2008 at Albert Heijn as a Teamleader/Assistant merchandiser, where they were responsible for managing merchandisers and ensuring product quality. Stefan also worked as an Intern in Corporate Security at TNO in 2016 and as an Intern in the Cyber Security research program at the Institute for National Security Studies from 2018 to 2019, where they conducted research and contributed to the global cyber bi-weekly report.

Stefan Weenk's education history includes obtaining a HAVO Diploma from Baudartius College Zutphen in 2011. Stefan then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Security Management from Saxion University of Applied Sciences from 2014 to 2019. Stefan also completed a minor in Criminal Justice - National Security Studies at the University of New Haven in 2017. Furthermore, Stefan completed a Masterclass in Cyber Security Management from Antwerp Management School from 2020 to 2022. Stefan has also obtained various certifications, including Certified In Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) from ISACA in 2023, and Professional Scrum Master I from Scrum.org in 2021.
