Ben Krause

Industrial Designer II at Gemline

Ben Krause has a diverse work experience in the field of industrial design. Ben started their career at Villa Park Public Works as a Seasonal Intern from May 2015 to August 2016. Ben then interned at Can Can Wonderland as a Marketing & Communications Intern from January 2017 to May 2017, where they assisted in developing marketing materials and managing social media platforms.

In 2017, Ben joined HAVI as a Packaging Design Intern from May 2017 to January 2018. Ben gained experience in designing packaging and creating press kits.

Ben then worked at Standard Modern Co. as an Industrial Designer from January 2018 to September 2018, where they contributed to product design and development.

From October 2018 to September 2019, Ben worked as a Footwear Design Intern for the Outdoor Team at Timberland. During this time, they designed new uppers and colorways for seasonal product lines, created technical packages, and maintained materials and color standards.

Currently, Ben is employed at Gemline as an Industrial Designer. Ben started as an Associate Industrial Designer from September 2019 to February 2021, where they assisted in creating product designs for stock assortments and custom projects. In February 2021, Ben was promoted to the role of Industrial Designer. Ben is responsible for conducting research on cultural and consumer trends, and translating insights into innovative and relevant consumer products.

Ben Krause's education history begins in 2010 when they attended Glenbard East High School and obtained their high school diploma in 2014. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Product Design at the University of Minnesota from 2014 to 2018. In 2022, Ben Krause enrolled in an Online Short Course at Central Saint Martins, University of The Arts London, focusing on Sustainable Product Design.
