Paul Harrison

Laboratory Services Consultant at Genea

Paul began his career at Genea (formerly Sydney IVF) 11 years ago and has been involved in culture media through to clinical laboratory management.

In 2007, Paul assisted in the establishment of a full IVF clinic with the PLA Navy General Hospital in Beijing, China. During this process, Paul and the team were able to implement China’s first elective single embryo transfer program in combination with blastocyst vitrification.

Since 2009, Paul has had management responsibility for the central Genea Embryology Laboratory in Sydney. During this time more than 15,000 IVF/ICSI cycles (inclusive of over 2,000 PGD cycles) and over 8,000 frozen embryo transfer cycles have been undertaken under Paul’s management. These roles have resulted in Paul accumulating extensive experience in all facets of IVF laboratory operations.

In 2014, Paul was a key team member in establishing Genea’s joint venture clinic at Oxford Women’s Health in Christchurch, New Zealand. As Clinical Services Consultant for Genea Consult, Paul offers a decade of experience running Australia’s leading Embrology lab as well as experience in the unique challenges of greenfields clinic establishment.
