Andrew Freear has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Andrew worked at Genel Energy PLC from 2019 onwards, starting as an Asset Manager and later assuming the role of Manager - New Business. In 2022, they became the Head of New Business and Commercial at the same company. Prior to that, they worked at Ophir-Energy from 2014 to 2019, holding various roles such as Commercial Manager and Asset Manager in Tanzania and Equatorial Guinea. Notably, they were responsible for commercializing deepwater natural gas fields and negotiating key commercial agreements. Before Ophir-Energy, Andrew worked at Centrica Energy from 2009 to 2014, holding roles such as Exploration Economist and Senior Commercial Analyst. Andrew began their career at Centrica in 2007 as part of their Graduate Programme, where they completed rotational roles.
Andrew Freear earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ancient History and Archaeology from Durham University, where they studied from 2002 to 2005. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Development Studies at the University of East Anglia, completing their studies in 2007.
