Alex Ramos

Senior Director, Computational Protein Generation at Generate Biomedicines

Alex Ramos has a diverse work experience, primarily in the field of data science and bioinformatics. They started working as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Broad Institute in 2006 and later became a Scientific Investigator at H3 Biomedicine in 2012. In 2014, Alex joined the Massachusetts General Hospital as a Group Leader in Bioinformatics. They then moved to the Broad Institute's Gad Getz Group as a Computational Biologist in 2015. Alex also worked at Apple from 2015 to 2019, where they held various roles including Fitness & Data Analytics Software Engineer, Senior Data Scientist, and Data Science Manager. Their latest position is at Generate Biomedicines, Inc. where they currently serve as the Associate Director of Machine Learning Operations.

Alex Ramos earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Boston University in 2005. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Genetics from Harvard University from 2005 to 2011.
