Computational Protein Generation Scientist I at Generate Biomedicines

Morgan Nance is a seasoned computational protein generation scientist currently working at Generate:Biomedicines since June 2024, following a role as a computational scientist at Manus Bio from July 2022 to June 2024. Responsibilities at Manus Bio included predicting protein variants, optimizing enzyme substrate specificity, and developing protein homology models. Morgan Nance also contributed to the maintenance of software for computational bioengineering and utilized the Rosetta macromolecular modeling suite within a collaborative scientific team. Earlier experience includes serving as an ORISE Fellow at the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, focusing on converting Red Blood Cells to improve combat casualty care, and an internship at the Air Force Research Laboratory, where modifications were made to a Generative Adversarial Network for deep learning applications. Morgan Nance earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics from The Johns Hopkins University in August 2023, following a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Davis.
