Blanca Gonzalez Melarde

Blanca Gonzalez Melarde has a diverse work experience in the field of biochemistry and pharmacy. Blanca worked as a Consultant at GENESIS Biomed starting in 2022. Prior to that, they were a Research Intern at Karolinska Institutet, where they studied the impact of naturally occurring variants of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH)-associated genes on cytotoxic lymphocyte degranulation. Blanca also generated NK cell lines deficient in HLH-associated genes.

Before their role at Karolinska Institutet, Blanca was a Research Intern at Radboudumc, where they focused on studying host-microbiome interactions in a novel in vitro 3D epidermis microbiome model. Blanca developed a model resembling S.

Blanca also has experience as a Pharmacist at Farmàcia Montserrat Gatell Tortajada and as a Pharmacy Intern at Fundació Hospital de l'Esperit Sant. Additionally, they completed a research internship as part of their Master's program at the University of Helsinki, where they characterized potential drug candidates for antivirulence activity against uropathogenic E. coli.
