Hashly Babu

Hashly Babu currently serves as the Head of Data & AI Engineering and Platforms at Genesis, a position held since May 2025. Prior experience includes significant roles at Air New Zealand from January 2021 to May 2025, where responsibilities encompassed leading AI and Data Engineering chapters and overseeing data and analytics platform strategies. Hashly's earlier tenure at Vodafone spanned from June 2012 to December 2020, featuring roles such as Solutions Architect, BI Manager, and Senior Technical Lead, contributing to large-scale data solutions and management of BI teams. Additional experience includes a brief stint as a Data Scientist at The University of Auckland and a background in Business Intelligence development through consultant roles with IBM at various organizations, including Vodafone New Zealand and Sprint Nextel. Hashly holds a Master of Professional Studies in Data Science from the University of Auckland and two degrees from the University of Calicut.
