Safiya Baptiste-Taylor is the Director of Partner Engagement at Genesys Works. Safiya has over fifteen years of experience working in the public and nonprofit sectors. Safiya has a deep commitment to social justice and economic opportunity for all.

Safiya began their career as a Market Research Supervisor at International Point of Contact (IPC). Safiya then spent eight years at Grant Associates, where they served as Manager of Community and External Partnerships. Safiya then joined NYC Human Resources Administration, where they served as Director of Special Housing Employment Programs for two years. Prior to joining Genesys Works, Safiya was a Senior Policy Associate at CUNY Institute for State & Local Governance.

Safiya holds a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and a master’s degree from the University of Chicago.

Safiya Baptiste-Taylor has a Master of Arts in Urban Studies from the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies, an Advance Graduate Certificate in Public Administration from the same school, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from John Jay College (CUNY).

Safiya Baptiste-Taylor reports to Jeffrey Artis, CEO. They work with Jamie Grant - Chief Strategic Growth Officer, Kim Nicholas - Executive Director, Chicago, and Tom Knight - SVP, Business Planning & Operations.
