Mariel Carozza

Mariel Carozza has a diverse work experience in various scientific and research roles.

Mariel currently works as a Lab Associate at Genezen since August 2021.

From June 2020 to June 2021, Mariel worked as a Research Assistant at Indiana University School of Medicine. In this role, they were responsible for conducting experiments and maintaining the laboratory while working in a BSL3 laboratory to investigate SARS-CoV-2.

Prior to that, from August 2018 to May 2020, they worked as a Cashier at Indiana University Residential Programs and Services.

Earlier in their career, from August 2016 to May 2018, they served as an Undergraduate Student Researcher in the Medical Sciences department at Indiana University. Mariel focused on examining the transcriptional response to oxidative stress under the mentorship of Dr. Heather O'Hagan.

From June 2015 to January 2018, they worked as a Lab Assistant at Indiana University School of Medicine. In this role, they conducted research on DNA repair pathways and the effects of small molecule inhibitors on cancer cells.

Mariel Carozza pursued their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Microbiology from Indiana University Bloomington, where they attended from 2016 to 2020. In 2018, they also took part in a study abroad program at IES Abroad, focusing on Environmental and Sustainability Studies.
