Julie Barnes

Julie Barnes has extensive experience in the field of pharmacology and predictive genetics, currently serving at GENinCode as GENinCode Plc since October 2022. Previously, Julie held several leadership roles at ABCODIA LIMITED, including Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Executive Officer, from March 2011 to October 2022. As the Founder and Director of Somaxa Ltd from December 2009 to April 2017, Julie contributed significantly to the company’s direction. Julie also served as Principal Consultant at 4D BioMedical and as an Honorary Fellow at NHS - University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. In earlier career positions, Julie was Chief Scientific Officer at BioWisdom Ltd and held various senior roles at GlaxoSmithKline, overseeing departments focused on neurology and neuroscience. Julie's academic background includes a BSc and PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Bradford, completed in 1987.
