Curatorial Assistant, Moving Image Department at George Eastman House

Sophia Lorent is a Curatorial Assistant in the Moving Image Department at the George Eastman Museum, a position held since May 2015. Prior experience includes roles as a Graduate Student at the Selznick School of the University of Rochester from September 2013 to August 2015, an Intern/Volunteer at George Eastman House between June 2014 and May 2015, and a Salad Preparation worker at Magnolia's Deli & Cafe from June 2014 to November 2014. Earlier work experience encompasses a Business Banking Assistant role at AnchorBank in the summer of 2013, a Student Assistant position at the UW-L Oral History Department for a brief period in late 2012, and an Internship at the Wisconsin Center for Film and Theater Research in the summer of 2012. Sophia Lorent holds a Master’s Degree in English with a specialization in Film Preservation/Studies from the University of Rochester (2013-2015), a Certificate of Training in Film Preservation from the L. Jeffrey Selznick School of Film Preservation (2013-2014), and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (2008-2012).
