Rob Pettit

Rob Pettit is a highly experienced academic and industry professional, currently serving as a Professor of Practice and Associate Chair for Graduate Studies at George Mason University since August 2003. Additionally, Rob holds the position of Director of New Graduate Programs, focusing on initiatives that support Virginia’s Tech Talent Investment Program (TTIP). With prior experience as a Sr. Project Leader at The Aerospace Corporation, where Rob led efforts in space flight software mission assurance, and an Adjunct Professor at Virginia Tech, Rob has extensive knowledge in software design and development. Rob’s early career includes significant roles at various organizations, including the Software Productivity Consortium and Sallie Mae, and an educational background with advanced degrees in Information Technology and Software Systems Engineering from George Mason University, complemented by a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Evansville.
