Samuel Acuña

Samuel Acuña, PhD, is an accomplished professional in the fields of bioengineering and mechanical engineering, currently serving as the Assistant Director at the Center for Advancing Systems Science and Bioengineering Innovation and as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at George Mason University. With a solid background in patent development for the medtech industry as a Patent Technical Advisor at Cooley LLP, Samuel also holds experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where efforts focused on fostering innovation in clinical collaborations. Previous roles include Technical Manager at The University of Texas at Dallas, Research Assistant in neuromuscular biomechanics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Research Assistant in the Neuromechanics Lab at Brigham Young University, complemented by an engineering position at Boeing. Samuel Acuña earned both a PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, along with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University.
