Shawna Williams

Shawna Williams has extensive experience in education, currently serving as an ESOL teacher at the Georgia Department of Education since July 2011, where responsibilities include teaching both newcomer and intermediate ESOL courses for grades K-11 and a social studies/ESOL hybrid course for grades 6-9. Prior to this role, Shawna was a contracted Spanish interpreter for Georgia PINES, providing translation services for families of children with hearing loss, and held various academic positions at East Georgia State College, including tenured associate professor and assistant professor of Spanish. Shawna also served as a temporary instructor at Georgia Southern University, focusing on introductory and intermediate Spanish classes. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature, a Master's in Spanish Language Teacher Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, all from Georgia Southern University.
