Tom Conte currently serves as the Associate Dean for Research at the Georgia Institute of Technology's College of Computing and holds a professorship in the Schools of Computer Science and Electrical & Computer Engineering. With extensive expertise in computer architecture, benchmarking, wireless networking, high-performance computing, compiler optimization, and hardware design, Tom also co-directs the Center for Research into Novel Computing Hierarchies (CRNCH). Tom has held numerous positions within professional organizations, including Co-Chair of the IEEE Rebooting Computing Initiative and IEEE Division V Director, and has significantly contributed to the IEEE Computer Society as its 2015 President. Prior academic appointments include professor at North Carolina State University and consultancy roles at IBM and BOPS. Tom holds a Ph.D. and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware.
